New Hyundai EV Possibly Coming to US Shores

All of us here at Tameron Hyundai located in Birmingham, AL, serving the greater Tuscaloosa area, are dedicated to bringing you all the news on our favorite automaker as it comes. We're also dedicated to our planet and staying as eco-friendly as possible. So when we caught wind of a new all-electric vehicle coming to the United States to join the rest of the new Hyundai lineup, it's safe to say we got a little bit excited.

We should preface all of this by saying this is all just rumor and speculation at this point; nothing has been set in stone but, like with all rumors in the industry, half the fun is in the guessing! And one nice big clue that points towards this EV is the fact that California has made recent changes to their emissions standards, requiring all automakers to provide a zero-emissions vehicle (ZEV) option.

Overseas, the South Korean automaker has already released the ix35 fuel-cell vehicle and a fuel-cell option for the Hyundai Tucson, but these vehicles don't quite make California's cut. Hydrogen fuel cells are indeed emissions-free, but since the technology is so new, the availability of refueling stations and the general hydrogen infrastructure makes it a less than viable option. It still has a long way to go before it truly gains mainstream audience appeal.

Regardless of where this situation goes, keep your fingers crossed and keep an eye on our blog for all future updates and details as they come, rumor or otherwise.
