Hyundai Receives Most Safety Award from Insurance Institute for Highway Safety

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has chosen, out of 66 vehicles, their top safety picks for 2011, and Hyundai is at the head of this list.

Test results from front, side and rear impact studies determined which vehicles were picked. To qualify, the insurance group also required vehicles to have anti-rollover electronic stability control (ESC) and receive top scores in roof strength testing. Hyundai Bets on New Elantra

Sales for the new Hyundai Sonata have reached almost 200,000 units this year. That's up 65% for the year, according to statistic source Autodata. Hyundai feels their Elantra compact could see a similar sales growth.
